The minute you walked in the joint…(first impressions!)

So you’ve got an interview. Fantastic! You’ve got over the first hurdle, the application process. Now, you need to make a good first impression at interview.

Here are some simple tips:

Be prepared

Research the company! Look at their website and find out as much as you can. Investigate their competitors, their products or services, and their locations.

Dress to impress

It’s better to be overdressed than underdressed. Aim for a smart suit, be it with trousers, a skirt, or a jacket and dress.

Be comfortable

Don’t wear brand new shoes that pinch your feet, or high heels that you’re not used to walking in. The last thing you want to be worrying about is whether you’re going to be able to make it down the stairs!

Be enthusiastic!

Smile! Be friendly and enthusiastic from the moment you walk into the building. Talk to the Receptionist, smile at the person showing you to the interview room, take your time to thank everyone and leave them with a good impression.

First impressions count, so make sure you show them the best version of you!
