We’re very excited to be making an appearance during this year’s Employability Festival, as it’s the first time we are attending the University of Kent. As we are attending for the first time we want to make sure we provide you with the relevant information needed before and during the workshop!
So what do we offer for graduates?
Smart graduates thrive at RWE npower. We’re one of the biggest names in the UK energy industry. Bring us your talent, drive and ambition and we’ll npower you to make the most of your potential. Our graduate schemes are here to help you get to know us and what we do. Each of our schemes will provide you with that unique and valuable insight, especially so early on in your career:
Managing hundreds of millions of pounds of financial risks might sound like a tall order. But we’ll npower you to use cutting-edge modelling techniques to do just that.
A business like ours is full of opportunities to learn all about finance. What’s more, we’ll help you to get your CIMA qualification.
Energy is a fascinating industry. We’ll npower you to understand the market, manage risk and get the best possible prices for our customers.
We’re a big business. Our Bespoke scheme is your chance to explore it and choose the career path that’s right for you.
Obviously we can’t be at our best without you being at yours. That’s why we’ll npower you with all kinds of training and development opportunities throughout your career with us. We’re looking for people who are the right fit for us and our customers. That’s why we look for some very particular qualities. We call these our graduate competencies:
Can you engage others
Are you open to innovation and change
Are you motivated to succeed
Can you make sound decisions
We need to make sure we’re the right fit for each other. That’s why we’ve put together a comprehensive assessment process to check that we’re the perfect match. Each graduate scheme has a slightly different process which we will explain in more detail during the workshop! Because, if you can demonstrate these through your day-to-day work, you’re going to be exactly the kind of person we’re looking for.
Competition for places is fierce. Here are a few basic hints and tips on making your application stand out, and we’ll explain in more detail during the workshop to ensure you have the right tools and techniques:
Use the STAR method to answer your questions (Situation, Task, Action, Result). This will help you structure your answers and stay on track.
Always proof read your application before submitting.
Most students answer questions in the same way. Be different and you’re sure to stand out. Think about what the question is really asking and tailor your answer accordingly.
